In 2018, 73 percent of eCampus NZ students were female, compared to the industry average of just 52 percent. Many women delay enrolling in study or returning to study, because of work or family commitments, but with the rise in online learning more and more women are now able to fit in learning around their busy schedules.
Jo Boese, who completed a Level 3 New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) through eCampus NZ credits other women in her course for making study a positive and empowering experience.
“I didn’t find the study process intimidating at all, which I think sometimes it can be especially as an older woman returning to study. The fact I could study from the comfort of my own home with plenty of help from the co-ordinator, and also thanks to other younger girls on my course, made me feel really empowered”.
With a wide variety of courses on offer, from project management to business studies, there are many reasons eCampus NZ is the perfect place for busy women to thrive. Here are just a few!
Start anytime.
Our courses do not follow a typical university semester, you can start at any time throughout the year. Choose the most convenient time for you to get going and get learning!
Study at your own pace.
Because our courses do not follow a strict schedule, you decide how much time you can devote to your studies. When life gets busy you can take study slowly and when you have some time up your sleeve you can complete study at a faster pace.
Study can be done from anywhere.
If you’re a stay at home mum you can study from the comfort of your own home, while if you work you can study in the evenings, your lunch break and weekends. Online learning is also great for women who live rurally, as you can work towards a qualification while still staying close to home.
It is not necessary to sacrifice your career.
Online education allows women to learn and earn. For many women this is a difficult situation: they need to stay working to stay relevant in their field, but they need further education to advance their career. Studying online can solve both of these concerns.
Gain support from professionals and other students.
eCampus NZ offers a supportive online learning environment. Women are encouraged and supported at eCampus NZ by not only the student advisors, but by the large online student community, made up of many other women.
Each student is assigned an advisor, who will regularly check in on your learning, and we will provide access to experienced course facilitators. Advisors support your learning by offering study advice, providing motivation, and answering general questions. Course facilitators track student’s progress within each course. They can help by answering questions on the course materials and providing feedback on assessments.
Student support is also offered through Facebook and LinkedIn, so despite studying in a virtual environment, support from other students is always available.
If you are thinking of studying, consider eCampus NZ as the education provider for you.
