If you are currently studying through eCampus NZ or are considering your study options, we want to assure you that it is business as usual. Regardless of the reform of vocational education (RoVE), you can continue to enrol through our partner institutions, and study our range of flexible online courses and qualifications.
Under RoVE, there will be a single entity created. The proposed name for this is Pūkenga Aotearoa. This entity will govern the tertiary vocational sector from 1 April 2020. We are excited about the opportunities that this new entity will enable, and believe it will achieve the objective of creating a strong unified, sustainable system that delivers the skills that learners, employers and communities need to thrive.
As with any change, uncertainty can breed hesitancy to move forward. For those who are concerned or waiting for more clarity, we thought the following Q&A might help to offer the assurance you need to get on with study and achieving your goals.
Q) Can I still get started?
A) Yes, absolutely. Your study can start anytime. eCampus NZ is supporting enrolments, and it is very much business as usual.
Q) If I enrol now, will I be able to finish my qualification?
You will be able to finish your qualification and it will be able to be completed online.
Q) What will happen to eCampus NZs’ partners?
A) Our partners will continue to deliver quality vocational education under the leadership of the Pūkenga Aotearoa. More details will be released in April 2020.
Q) Will there be any changes to the range of available study options?
A) We are confident that there will be no changes, and if any, they will ensure a more extensive range of study choices for our learners.
Q) Will fees free opportunities still apply to first year learners?
A) Yes. There has been no change signalled to the fees free criteria.
