Pacific Islands Forum Fisheries Agency (FFA) partners with eCampus NZ to advance careers within the industry

The Challenge

The Pacific Islands Forum Agency wanted their fisheries officers to develop the confidence and techniques necessary to be able to lead effectively. FFA members work in a complex environment and require a specific skill set of leadership qualities.

The Solution

eCampus NZ learning designers worked with subject matter experts to embed industry-specific course content into the existing New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) (Level 4).  Employees would then be able to apply their knowledge and skills within the context of the fisheries industry.

Almost all of the course would be delivered online through the eCampus Portal with the exception of a one-off workshop led by the course facilitator and an industry expert to help cement the learnings of the course.

The Results

The FFA is now able to provide their officers with the opportunity to gain an industry recognised, NZQA accredited and internationally accepted qualification. Officers can gain the confidence they need to be effective leaders and apply techniques learned on the course into their everyday work-life.
