Our Online Forum

One of the more common questions about online study is ‘will I get the same support online?‘ Unlike traditional classroom settings, studying online means you won’t be surrounded by people on a daily basis.  But this doesn’t mean you are alone or without support.

When setting up the eCampus NZ learning platform we looked at ways to ensure our students felt supported and connected. We also looked at options to ensure our students are able to engage and interact with other students whenever possible.

Our online forum is just one of the ways we encourage students to network. Accessed through our online portal you can join conversations about the courses you are studying – speaking directly to students who are in your course and working on the same assignments as you.

eCampus NZ student Jessica Shirley said with the online forum she never felt alone.

“Studying online was really good for me; I was able to talk with students doing my course through the online forum. It felt like I was right in a classroom – while really I was at home.”

In addition to the online forum, students of eCampus NZ are able to send and receive personal messages and reach out to their course facilitators on a regular basis.

Pamela Simpson, Executive Director of eCampus NZ, says through research and international expertise eCampus NZ was able to gain an understanding of what is truly important to students studying online.

“We know that students need engagement and support to build real connections with real people. For this reason, eCampus NZ students have regular access to their advisor and course facilitators – who are available online at times throughout the day and night. They also have an online forum to bounce ideas and share feedback. You can ask for help and gain advice when you need it most.”

eCampus NZ also has a Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to share feedback, ask questions and gain useful information.
