Meeting Export Training Requirements

How we helped Apples and Pears design, develop and deliver export Phytosanitary training and accreditation.

The Challenge

The New Zealand Apple and Pear advisory required a training and accreditation programme that would allow large numbers of seasonal workers to be accredited in Phytosanitary requirements, quickly and effectively.

The Solution

eCampus NZ developed three online modules that worked in conjunction with face to face training with Apples and Pears Inc. Large numbers of packhouse employees were able to access the online modules before face to face training and gain recognition for the skills learnt through micro-credentials.

The Results

Apples and Pears are now able to train large numbers of staff using fewer resources. Once the pilot programme is evaluated, the goal is to transition the programme into other areas of the food and fibre sector.

From 1 January 2023, eCampus NZ will no longer enrol new learners into study plans delivered on the eCampus NZ learning platform.

However, all courses/programmes will still be available for online study through Open Polytechnic - Te Pūkenga.
