Student Story – Why I love eCampus NZ

Making the decision to change your life is monumental. It can also be scary! If, like many people, you’ve decided to open new doors of opportunity through study, the options can be overwhelming. How do you fit study in around work? Will the experience be a good one? Which course and where? Online or on campus?

If it were up to us, we’d tell you that online study is taking the world by storm due to the flexibility it provides. We could show you the range of career focused courses that are affordable and lead to real jobs. But we’d rather let our students tell you about their experiences.

Charlotte Kahukiwa started studying at eCampus NZ in January 2017.  She made the decision to study to pave the way to having a more fulfilling working life.

I wanted to upskill so that I can influence my children to be successful. To be able to work in an environment where I will enjoy the work I do, not just work to pay the bills.” Charlotte said.

Charlotte chose eCampus NZ as it allows her to study full-time around her work and family commitments, something that would have been difficult if not impossible elsewhere. The course she chose was the New Zealand Certificate in Business (First Line Management) Level 4. “I chose this course because I have been in leadership roles, but wanted more in-depth knowledge and a qualification behind me”, she said.

So, what does Charlotte like most about eCampus NZ? “The staff are very approachable and the learning can be done online at my own pace. The workbooks are thorough and laid out in a way that I can easily understand. Also, the assessments are well detailed and the feedback afterwards is really helpful.”

Charlotte says studying online has made learning accessible to her. “I can work at my own pace around my busy life as a working mum and wife. I’m able to study after the children have gone to bed, or sometimes if I have time during the day on my short work days. I study between 15 to 20 hours a week.”

The personal support provided through eCampus NZ is “awesome”.
“They are in regular contact to make sure everything is going okay. The course facilitators are great too. Communication is fast and effective and they are always looking to help students to learn.”

So how would Charlotte describe eCampus NZ to someone who is considering studying while working? “The experience has been great. I totally recommend studying with eCampus NZ. They are awesome to study with and give great support. If you are unsure of anything they will steer you in the right direction. They are very efficient and always willing to assist.”

We value our students at eCampus NZ and their success is linked to ours.
