Launch of eCampus NZ

Several of New Zealand’s leading tertiary institutes have launched an innovative and supportive on-line vocational learning service – eCampus NZ.

An exciting collaboration between Ara Institute of Canterbury (Ara), Otago Polytechnic (OP), Universal College of Learning Palmerston North (UCOL), Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) and Eastern Institute of Technology (EIT), eCampus NZ enables all institutes to offer first-rate online education to students across New Zealand.

Through the eCampus NZ service, students studying online will be able to choose when to study and how to make their tertiary programme meet their requirements and fit their lifestyle. The portal has been designed specifically for online study and was built with the sole objective of providing students with an easy, flexible online learning environment.

All institutes involved already offer a comprehensive range of services and support to help students to reach their study goals. eCampus NZ is an exciting new addition to these services and will provide education opportunities to students who are unable to study due to work, family commitments or other barriers.
All qualifications online through eCampus NZ will be awarded by one of the partner tertiary education providers. This means that courses completed through eCampus NZ are industry recognised and accepted by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA).

As leading tertiary education providers, all institutes involved have a tradition of being dynamic and responsive to market needs. Through this exciting collaboration, eCampus NZ strengthens and enhances existing educational offerings and leads the way for alternative options in vocational training in New Zealand.

Initially, students will be able to access more than 40 courses through eCampus NZ, including business studies, photography, graphic design and barista training. It is a fantastic learning platform – it is easy to use and well supported with the learner at the core.
