We’re excited to announce that eCampus NZ has won two awards at this year’s Learn X Awards.
LearnX brings together leading organisations across the globe to celebrate forward-thinking workforce learning and supporting technologies. Each year, the awards highlight projects and solutions that deliver best practice in eLearning design.
This year, eCampus NZ took home Platinum in the Best Free eLearning Resource Design category for Tere: Your Guide to Moving Online Swiftly. A small team at eCampus NZ created this free, interactive digital resource in record speed to help educators transition to online learning as New Zealand entered a nationwide lockdown in response to COVID-19. “We are so aware this year, unlike previous years, has produced a significant extra stressor through the impact of COVID 19. We acknowledge and empathise with all members of our whānau, be that our learners, their families, our team members located across all regions of New Zealand, and our colleagues within our partner ITPs, industry and employers,” says eCampus NZ Chief Executive Pamela Simpson.
“When we found ourselves in a lockdown situation, we started looking for ways we could use our team’s talent and expertise to support our partners and other educators across the country as they quickly made the transition to online delivery,” says Pamela.
“A small team, led by eCampus NZ Lead Instructional Designer Tim Thatcher, pulled this interactive resource together in a matter of days. It’s fantastic to see their hard work acknowledged by LearnX alongside other leaders in eLearning design.”
eCampus NZ also scooped Gold in the Best Shift-it-Online eLearning Resource Design category for our development of the New Zealand Certificate in Business Accounting Support Services (Level 4).
Keen to help businesses upskill employers and give learners across Aotearoa New Zealand access to flexible online learning opportunities, eCampus NZ worked closely with the Eastern Institute of Technology to shift their Certificate in Business Accounting Support Services to an online environment. “In this programme, we use avatars to guide learners through the learning materials and help them make connections between what they’re learning and how it may be relevant in the workplace. This development exemplifies our evolution of thinking around eLearning, in that it truly places the learner at the centre of the learning experience,” says Product and Service Manager John West.
“These awards are a testament to our team’s creativity, passion for education, and ability to innovate,” says Pamela.
Thank you, LearnX!
