COVID-19 Latest Updates

Kia ora koutou,

It was announced today that Auckland will move to COVID-19 Alert Level 2 at midnight on Wednesday, and the rest of the country will move to Level 1.

This will come as a welcome relief to many of us in the eCampus NZ learning community. However, we know that some of our learners continue to be affected by the impacts of COVID-19 and these restrictions.

The eCampus NZ team are so inspired by the way you have supported each other and continued to share your stories of strength, determination, and resilience over the past few months. We hope that being part of the eCampus NZ whānau, and working with your eCampus NZ coursemates towards your individual and shared goals, has been a source of strength and comfort to you.

You may already know that this week is Mental Health Awareness Week, which is an opportunity for us all to reflect on how we’re feeling and coping.

If you’re looking for new ways to refuel, recharge, and be there for whānau, take a look at the Mental Health Foundation’s Reimagine Wellbeing Together, He Tirohanga Anamata postcards in English or Te Reo. These postcards offer some simple ways you can think about, and look after, your mental health and wellbeing.

The first strategy is about supporting taha whānau, or family and social wellbeing, by recharging with others.

Taha whānau is the people that we care about, who recharge us and make us feel we belong. Whānau isn’t just our immediate family – it includes our friends, colleagues, and community – anyone close to our hearts.

How can you recharge with others this week?

  • If you haven’t already, introduce yourself to others on your course
  • Send another learner a message
  • Check in with a learner on your course who may need a little encouragement or support
  • Take a moment to tell your family members what you’ve been learning and what you’ve achieved.

For more ideas and to learn about Te Whare Tapa Whā, which the activities in the postcards are inspired by, head to

Ehara taku toa i te toa taki tahi, engari he toa taki tini. My strength is not that of one but that of many.
