All learners can study this programme fees-free through the Targeted Training and Apprenticeships Fund until 31 December 2022.
You don’t need to apply to access the fund – simply enrol.
This doesn’t impact on your ability to use the Government’s Fees Free scheme for further study (as long as you meet the eligibility criteria).
Additional costs such as course equipment and materials are not included.
For fees that cover periods beyond this date, these will be apportioned based on the percentage of days or months that occur before 31 December 2022.
From 1 January 2023 funding for industry training will return to its pre-TTAF state, i.e. any fees relating to training are covered by the learner and/or their employer.

How will I learn?
You can fit your study around your work, family and lifestyle – there is no need to be a full-time student while studying with eCampus NZ. You can work and earn. All study is completely online – with supportive facilitators and advisors to help you along the way. How long will it take?
This qualification is made up of four courses. To complete a course successfully in the 10 weeks you must be prepared to devote approximately 15 hours per week to your study. Depending on your previous academic online experience and course level this may vary to a certain degree. If you want to study as a full-time student you can enrol on more than one course at a time, which will increase the amount of study required per week.
Career and study pathways
On completion of this course you could be ready to undertake more advanced study to become an IT professional or you may feel ready to seek out that entry level role in IT.
Entry requirements
Academic requirements:
- 40 credits NCEA Level 1, including 10 literacy credits and 10 numeracy credits or
- New Zealand Certificate in Computing (Intermediate User) Level 3 or
- Demonstrated equivalent through study, work and/or life experience
English requirements:
All applicants must have a level of English sufficient to be able to study at this level. Those applicants whose first language is not English should have: An International English Language Testing System (IELTS) overall academic score of at least 5.5 issued within the last two years, with not less than 5.5 in any category. Complete two years study at a New Zealand secondary school and achieve either NCEA Level 3 or New Zealand University Entrance or both.
Technical Requirements
You will need a computer that has access to the Windows environment to successfully complete two courses in this programme. Please be aware that if you are using a Apple Mac computer there will be issues in completing this qualification. If you have any questions on this please contact us. Due to the practical nature of one of the courses, you will need to have computing equipment that meets the technical requirements.
