LinkedIn is a social networking platform focused on building professional connections. It allows you to network and make new connections in your industry and related fields. All users have their own page which can be tailored to detail work experience, educational background and professional achievements. It’s also a great resource for finding new jobs, as many companies advertise positions through the LinkedIn platform.
CareersNZ provides tools and advice to help you make informed learning and career decisions. Their website provides information on different jobs and industries, what study pathways may lead to certain professions, salary guides and job market indicators. They also have a variety of helpful tools such as a CV builder, career guidance based on your skills and interests, and tips on finding work.
Occupation Outlook is a New Zealand mobile app for Apple and Android smartphones and tablets. It allows you to explore study and career options in over 100 occupations and shows current employment prospects and average incomes. The app also gives information on how to enter your desired industry, including what qualifications are required and how many people are currently studying in related fields.
Jobhunters usually begin their search on websites that focus on the New Zealand job market, including Student Job Search, New Zealand Government Jobs, SEEK and TradeMe Jobs.
