If it’s a long time since you’ve stepped inside a classroom, the idea of studying can be a daunting prospect.
Photography business owner and former eCampus NZ student Jessica Shirley says having the option to study online gave her the confidence boost she needed to realise she could complete two diplomas.
“There was a time in my life when I would never have been brave enough to step inside a classroom, due to anxiety problems. Having the option to study at home, in a safe and familiar environment, was hugely beneficial and as I started to progress with my study, I realised I really enjoyed it and I wanted to take if further.”
While she was studying, Jessica had a part-time job and was sole parent to her two children.
Now she is a freelance photographer for Fairfax Media’s Admire fashion magazine and teaches digital photography and video at Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology.
Jessica’s favourite thing in life after her children is creating imagery. She is passionate about her work and is doing what she loves.
“If you’ve ever thought about studying, I’d really encourage you to get into it – and if my story helps inspire others to take the first step then that’s fantastic,” Jessica says.
The eCampus NZ team is dedicated to providing students with the support they need to achieve their study goals.
As well as having access to experienced course facilitators, you are assigned your own personal advisor to support and guide you along the way. To ensure you stay motivated and fully connected, eCampus NZ also offers student support through Facebook and LinkedIn.
You’re never alone with eCampus NZ – the team regularly checks in to see how you are going and can step in to give you the guidance you need to kick your study back into gear.
But don’t take our word for it… find out for yourself!
