Which Business Administration Qualification Works for You?

Business Admin Qualification is Right for You

So you’re thinking about getting qualified in Business Administration and you want to know how to take the next step.

Did you know that two of the most important steps in your learning journey happen before your courses even begin?

Step 1: Making the decision to study

All learners begin their learning journey as soon as they make the decision to study. We all have different reasons for wanting to upskill. Maybe you’re preparing to begin a new career. Perhaps you have your sights set on moving up the career ladder. Maybe you had a hard time at school and want to study to prove to yourself you’ve got what it takes. Whatever your reason for deciding to study, you should be proud of the choice you’ve made.

Step 2: Choosing a qualification

The second important step we all make before we begin studying is deciding what to study. With so many qualifications available to study at different levels, making this decision can leave your head spinning.

The best piece of advice we can give you is to enquire online or call 0800 328 269 to get in touch. Our friendly eCampus NZ Learner Services Coordinators can guide you towards the right study pathway to help you meet your goals. But to get you started, this blog will tell you a little more about getting qualified in Business Administration.

Why study Business Administration

Skilled administrators are indispensable in any organisation. Administrators can apply their administrative superpowers to a variety of tasks, projects and roles, so studying Business Administration can really take you places.

Of course, it takes knowledge and expertise to perform as a skilled administrator.

Studying towards the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 4) will help you learn the finer points of delivering great administrative support to your organisation. You’ll enhance your administration skills, gain a deeper understanding of the technologies available to help you deliver on statistical and financial data within the business, take your communication skills to the next level, and learn how to use the tools of the trade to deliver high quality documents that meet expectations.

The New Zealand Diploma in Business (Administration and Technology) has a different focus that the previous qualifications we’ve mentioned, with more of an emphasis on the decision-making side of things. You’ll learn how to analyse, evaluate and improve administrative systems and processes within an organisation.  You’ll also develop your understanding of the functions and operations of a business so you can streamline administrative processes and make decisions to support management and contribute to the achievement of organisational strategic objectives.

Taking it step-by-step

Some learners decide to begin their learning journey with a Level 3 qualification before moving through the other qualifications. EIT learner Rebecca Clarke set a goal – to complete each qualification offered in business administration via the eCampus NZ platform.  She started off with the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 3), followed by the New Zealand Certificate in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 4) and she is now working towards completing the New Zealand Diploma in Business (Administration and Technology) (Level 5).

Rebecca chose to study with eCampus NZ because of the flexibility it offered while allowing her to be a mum. “Being a mum was my main priority, but I knew I needed to invest in myself for my children to have a better future. I wanted to study from home,” says Rebecca.

And what advice does Rebecca give to learners considering beginning their learning journey?

“There is a misconception that studying can be stressful but the things you get out of studying are far more rewarding at the end of the day than the doubts you have to begin with,” says Rebecca.
